How it works:
- You must download the 18Birdies app (it’s free!) on your phone. It can be found in the Apple App Store or in Google Play.(Ads may pop up for features to purchase, but NO purchase within the app is necessary to participate in the virtual tournament.)
- Register (on this event website), then you will receive a code to use in 18Birdies to sign up. As a reminder, you are still responsible for green fees at the golf course.
- After receiving the code, open up the 18Birdies app.If you have not already, create a username.
- At the bottom “toolbar,” select the golf ball/Play icon.
- Select the third bar – Tournament and enter the code (Joya Spokane should show up)
- Search “Start a Tournament Round” to find a nearby golf course
- On the day you golf, select a course of your choice and confirm the settings to begin.
Tournament format is 2 person best ball. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place low net and low gross teams.

Some information from the 18Birdies website:
How does the app calculate the winners if they are at different courses?
Most golf courses are rated in difficulty by a combination of numbers (course par/slope/course rating).
Ultimately, you want your golfers to play a course with similar:
Course Par
Typically par 71 or 72
Slope and Rating
Take a look at the courses you have played in previous years to compare these numbers for men & women
This is to avoid some golfers from playing executive and par-3 courses.
The app will take the course par & difficulty for all of the courses played amongst your players, and then generate a 'generic course' which has equalized those factors to produce a level playing field.
